I am absolutely delighted to be supporting Louisa’s Honey once again at the BBC Good Food Show, NEC Birmingham on Friday 24 November 2023 with my great friend and fellow 2023 MasterChef contestant Forest Kwok. We will be making and handing out canapés using the award-winning honey. Amazing bread-maker, Marie Lester, will also be there, so we will be using her fantastic bread too. In addition to this, I will be at the Louisa’s Honey stand at John Lewis, High Wycombe on Wednesday 29 November, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 December 2023. Congratulations to Marasby wine!
On another note, congratulations to Talya Roberson and Simon Huntington of Marasby wine for the launch of their business this past week. I was delighted to be invited to their launch event on Wednesday 1 November 2023 at the Tap and Bottle, London Bridge, where I met representatives from wineries and the wine industry. Talya and Simon are great advocates for English and Welsh wine producers. English and Welsh wine has come of age, so do explore it. I wrote about their vision to “grow the 1%” in an earlier newsletter, but please do have a look at their superb website. You can buy wines from their website at farm gate prices, tickets to wine tasting events, and there is a wealth of advice and information.
Easy-prep rendang recipe
For busy days, an easy-prep dish is always welcome. In the video below, I demonstrate an easy-prep rendang. This includes rendang spices from Spargo Mills kindly gifted by My Blue Tea of Sydney, Australia. The rendang is intensely rich, fragrant and spicy. This time, I chose to use succulent lamb neck fillet rather than the normal beef or mutton. This is served with rice and topped with toasted coconut flakes. Hugo Bass of Artisan Leaves kindly provided the delicious micro-coriander garnish. Thank you, Hugo!
